Calibration Factor, CF

Calibration factor is the ratio of response from detector to the analyte concentration. Sometimes "calibration factor" is also called "response factor" depending on the field of science. In GC/MS methods, response factor is used more often. In GC and HPLC methods, calibration factor is used. Both terms refer to the same thing, and used by some people interchangeably.

However, some people have an alternate definition of "response factor" in the internal calibration.

Calculate calibration factor, CF

CF = (Standard peak area / Standard concentration)
